| How To
Optimize Your Photo's For the Internet
This is a great photo program
that allows you to optimize, frame, shadow, create
lightning, spot lights, and a lot more, try some
different things, you can have a lot of fun!!
Photo Impact 6 Instructions:
Before you load software, write down the serial number
so you can enter it when you install.
Install the software, you do
not have to install the new explorer 5, do
not register
After you install, you will
only use the photoimpact 6, not the album,
Open the program, it will ask
you if you want to register, check the box that says do
not ask this again and click register later.
You will have some extra tool
bars that are in the program on the right hand side, go
ahead and click these off, you do not need them, now you
should have just the program on your desk top.
There is a couple of ways that
you can load your pictures.
If you have your pictures in a
folder on your computer all you have to do is go to the
top toolbar to (open) and get your picture to bring up
in the program.
You can also get your picture
straight from your camera, go to file , open and look
for your camera, it might be listed as one of your hard
drives, (A is floppy, C is your hard drive, D or E might
be the camera, check for (my camera) or it might say
something else, just start clicking on a couple of them
and a list of pictures that you have taken should show
up, sometimes there will be a folder with a name or
number that has your pictures on the camera. When you
find your camera pictures then you just click on one and
it will come up in the program.
Now that you have your picture
up in the program (photoimpact6) If you want to change
anything (brighten, darken, frame etc. ) you have to do
this before you optimize and save the picture. If you
try to change the picture after you save to a folder it
will blur the photo.
You do not have to resize the
picture like before, you leave the picture (640 x 480)
and optimize like below.
A nice feature in this program
is a automatic photo process that will (brighten,
darken, and clean up the picture with one click)
sometimes this does not do a lot of good, but I always
try it first before I save the picture. Go up to
toolbar, click on format and go to auto process and
click, this will brighten or darken photo automatically,
if the picture does not look like you want it to, you
can just change back by clicking the little arrow that
goes back.
Now that your picture looks
like you want (brightness, etc.) you need to optimize
and save for the web. Go to the top and click on (web) a
window should open and then you go to the bottom and
click (web optimizer), another window will open and you
have a slide bar that you can move to the left, there is
a window on the left that has a number in it, this will
change when you slide the bar. Slide the bar down until
you get to around 20 to 28.
Before you save the picture.
1. Make sure when you save the picture
that you are in the correct folder that you want the
picture to go to.
2. You should rename the
picture, name it the car plus your initials so you will
no each picture. You cannot put two pictures up with the
same name.
3. You want to make sure that it
is a .jpg. Then click save!!
Now you can go back and check
the picture that you saved and see what size it is (just
hold your mouse pointer over the picture and wait for a
window to come up telling you the size or you can right
click on the picture and go to properties and look. (you
want the picture to be around a 25 to 28 k) or
(something like 24485kb) if it is too big then go back
and lower the number (slide bar) and re-save over the
same picture and recheck, once you get the picture to
the correct size then the program will be set and it
should not change. The reason you might have to correct
a few times is because every camera will shoot in a
little different size to start with, most camera's will
be around a 640 x 480 (maybe around 79 to 130 k) that is
why you need to set the slide bar a couple of times
until you get it close. Don't worry about the dimensions
, you want it to stay at 640 X 480, that should be the
smallest picture you camera will take. (the setting that
shoots the most pictures at one time)
You should be done, now you can
load up to your website.
If you still have problems, I
can help you on the phone or maybe come by your business
and show you, I promise that after you have done this a
couple of times it will seem very easy and you vehicles
will load fast for the public and still look good.
If you bring the photo back up
in photoimpact 6, the picture will look washed out, but
when you upload in the internetautodealer program it
will make it look good.
